Wanted Travelmate !

No matter which is your traveling-style, whether it’s backpacking, flashpacking, or luxurious-traveling, one thing you also have to decide is who will travel with you? It is okay if you choose to be a solo traveler which easier to control your own itinerary, financial, and stuffs. But what about if you need someone or more to travel with you, who’s the best person to become your travelmate?  Family? Friend? Lover?

Lucky me, I met Hamka in 2011 who has same passions and goals with me. Actually it was not easy to decide him to become my travelmate because I have to know him very well firstly, what’s his interests and missions, and the hardest problem is, we live in different place which is not easy to make travel plan together because we live our own life. So how we keep this relationship and missions?

When I decided to choose Hamka as my travelmate I made list that explain the criteria of my travelmate. And here’s top 10 requisite of my travelmate, which most of the point I found on him:

Have Same Interest, and Good Sense of Humor
A must! Have same interest makes you never lost the topic to talk about when you travel together, whether is about your journey or something else such as music or even, politics. Better if both of you have good sense of humor so you never feel bored and enjoy every moment, even the worst!

Financial Open-Minded
Have a travelmate means you have to share every budget when you travel together, especially for accommodation. It’s better if both of you discuss how much money you have and you want to spend. Find restaurant and hotel which worth with your cost and you’ll never feel lose out by your travelmate.

Honest
So you’re a travelmate and always go together for a long time. Make a strong belief each other and be honest. Never steal your travelmate’s stuff, take care each other, everything safe, everyone feels comfort.

Discuss and Decide
When you travel with someone discuss everything you want and need together, such as your day-trip or things you have to bring and use together. Never say just ‘yes or no’, show your contribution and idea then decide together. You’re a travelmate and this is your trip, remember? So plan and make it together.

Street Smart
He/she knows how to take care his/herself. Always feels confident, or at least looks confident. Not looks too flirtatious or innocent. Knows when how to respect and ignore the stranger. You’ll feel comfort traveling with a person like this. You’ll feel save.

Adventurous
At my age and big passion about traveling, it’s nice to try something extremely new and beat your heart! When I said to Hamka that I want to try bungee-jumping in New Zealand, he answered “Will be there!” With that spirit and passion, believe me, you’ll never forget your journey and it will be your best!

Harmonize Our Passion
We like to travel. I like to share and write about my journey while Hamka harmonize it with his passion about photography. And this is how it goes to… this site! Without my spirit to write or Hamka’s best shoot our journey will be nothing. Just in our memory. You’ll never read and see it.

A Swimmer
Well actually this is my own requisite. Because I love sea and waterfall, how come you travel with me if you don’t like to swim? Lucky me, although Hamka is a mountain hiker he also loves sea and likes to swim. For his kindness, I owe him to climbing a mountain together someday!
